Happy New Year.  2013.  Unroll a year of possibilities for you and for me.

Contemplate, Cherish & Celebrate...what's been, what's coming.  

Looking back over this past year, it's been a year of exciting (and some really scary shit, too) happenings.  Would you stand in line to learn how your new year would be if someone could accurately guess each day for you?  

My son is nominated for four Emmy's and is going to the Awards ceremony this month so January unfurls with jubilant joy for his hard work.

My daughter deserves a bit of my praise for surviving as a military wife, the multiple moves, the changes, the sacrifices, and in the midst of it all she carves out time to write books, to write bountifully about her love of France.

For the last few years, I've been obsessed with drawing faces in thread, sketching them in pencil, painting them on canvas, and being utterly fascinated with the nuances of each created face.  What questions or answers lie hidden in our art?  For me, the year ended with two face/head surgeries, and a resolution to listen to what comes through, in my dreams, in my art, because they might be guiding me along my path.

Painting my son asked me to paint as a Christmas gift.  It's Iron Fist, a comic book character.  I wasn't sure I could do this subject.  I whined about it being out of my comfort zone.  Chris was so encouraging along the way and so pleased with the end results.  (BTW, another face).  Life to me is about, spreading a bit of happiness and kindness, whether I "get" it, "agree" with it, or not.  To not judge, to just do.  I'm also a work in progress.
